inside a working print shop // polk city, iowa

flyover con.

Some of the best ideas in this industry don't come from the biggest cities or the biggest companies. They come from hardworking shops in the middle of the country that are willing to open their doors and share what they've learned. This is us, opening ours.

not another hotel ballroom.

You know the formula: convention center, carpet squares, badge scanners, a tote bag of brochures you'll never open. Flyover Con is intentionally none of that. It happens inside our working print shop in Polk City: presses running, dryers humming, real orders moving through the building while you're in it.

It's designed to feel like an industry reunion inside a real production facility. Fewer sales pitches, more honest conversations. Hands-on demonstrations instead of PowerPoint. Small enough that everyone can actually meet everyone. And the goal for every attendee is the same: leave with things you can implement Monday morning.

We've hosted it in 2024 and again in 2026, and each time the takeaway is the same: shop life is the attraction. Built by printers, for printers.

what flyover con is.

honest shop tours.

No fake showroom, no staged demos. You walk an operating production floor and see the real workflow, mess and all.

live production.

Equipment being used for actual orders, run by the people who run it every day. Ask them anything.

practical sessions.

Hands-on education from working decorators. Knowledge you'll use, not brochures you'll recycle.

real conversations.

Talk directly with owners and operators. No polished marketing talks, no scripts.

small on purpose.

Sized so you can meet everyone in the building, including the vendors. Community over competition.

collaborative vendors.

Sponsor interaction that feels like working together, not being worked over.

accessible. on purpose.

Registration is a modest fee, kept intentionally low. It's not how this event makes money; it's there for buy-in, so the room is full of people who actually want to be there. Sponsors cover the rest, and sponsoring Flyover Con isn't buying ad space: it's face-to-face time with working decorators, a seat inside an authentic community event, and a direct hand in keeping industry education accessible.

If your company wants in on that, let's talk sponsorship.

why we host it.

Flyover Con is what P&M stands for, turned into an event: generosity, education, transparency, and helping other decorators succeed. We'd rather grow the whole industry than guard our corner of it. Open doors beat closed playbooks.
